Hey there, I'm Page (she/her), the artist behind Ginger Mystic! I create small-batch polymer clay jewelry, art, and trinkets all filled with whimsical energy. Ginger Mystic is constantly evolving as I ride the wave of my hyperfixations and inspirations. By making designs in small batches, each piece is uniquely crafted and sprinkled with a dash of weirdness. I recently moved to Juneau from Southwest Virginia, and excited to connect with the local community!

My mom is certified 'Bob Ross' painting instructor, so I grew up painting happy trees & making lots of happy accidents. Growing up in a home that supported my love of art, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Visual Communication and a minor in Graphic Arts Technology. I loved graphic design, but felt a connection to education and further pursued a Masters of Science in College Student Personnel Administration where I continued a career in higher education. During COVID, I felt driven to dive back into art as I had put it on the back-burner for years. I picked up polymer clay because it was accessible at the time and gave me inspiration to dive into making again. Ginger Mystic slowly formed from this point, and I have been running and selling my business for 5 years come October! :)

I create small-batch polymer clay jewelry and trinket designs filled with whimsical energy, colorful patterns, and quirky aesthetics! I use various polymer clay techniques to combine textures, colors, and finishes to create unique wearable art. My selection contains mostly earrings, which are all made from handmade polymer clay beads, charms, and designs and finished with nickel-free findings. All my pieces can be customized on-site to change findings to match jewelry preferences and clip-on options. I also make trinkets that share the same aesthetic, such as trinket dishes, ring holders, figurines, wrapped crochet hooks and more. While I sometimes use cutters and engraved tools for the shapes of my pieces, often I am handcrafting patterns and sculpting individual elements of my designs. I use a technique called 'canes' which allows me to create patterns inside of the clay by hand, and reducing the pattern to a size usable for jewelry and trinkets. This technique is time intensive and creates unique patterns that can be seen both front-and-back in the final clay design. This process is done completely by me to achieve detailed designs without the use of printed transfers. I also create handmade miniatures by sculpting tiny fruits, veggies, bakery items, and other foods. These tiny elements are handmade and provide whimsy whether they are in a pair of wearable jewelry, a magnet, or a trinket dish. While my jewelry does not use fine metals of precious stones, I work with polymer clay as a way to create unique pieces of art while remaining accessible to a wide-range of people. Polymer clay is a medium that allows me to express my colorful and quirky art, while also retaining handcrafted one-of-a-kind quality at price points accessible to a wide-range of people.
