{"product_id":"black-and-white-raven-company-magazine-issue-no-01","title":"Black and White Raven Company Magazine: Issue No. 01","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEditor's Note from Chloey Cavanaugh\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWelcome to the June 2026 Edition of Black and White Raven Company Magazine.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA story is its most powerful when it is told fully.  But there are so many spaces where we are only allowed to bring pieces of ourselves.  A little bit of truth here, shared quietly between friends.  A little bit of frustration there, softened to make others comfortable.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI've started noticing how often Indigenous people are asked to shrink our experiences into something easier to digest.  Polished versions are sprinkled into land acknowledgments, grants, and easy-to-celebrate moments.  We are welcomed in slivers, but not always in the fullness of what it means to exist in oppressive systems, workplaces, tribal politics, corporations, community harm, lateral violence, grief, pride, joy, and survival all at once.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis magazine was created because I wanted a space for all of it.  A space where Indigenous people c an speak honestly to one another.  Where we can name experiences, instead of carrying them silently.  Where we can stand beside one another through disagreements reflection, accountability, humor, creativity, healing, and hard truths.  A space where our voices do not have to compete to be heard, but instead uplift one another in conversation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo much has happened within our Tribes, our corporations, our organizations, and our communities.  Many of us have learned to stay quiet to protect relationships, jobs, opportunities, or belonging.  But silence does not always create peace; sometimes it only creates distance from ourselves and each other.  Distance from knowing what is going on around us.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI do not believe honesty and love are opposites; I believe that sharing honestly can be an act of care, that reflection can empower movement, and that dialogue can create change.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBlack and White Raven Company has always been rooted in storytelling, community, and creating space for voices that deserve to be heard fully, not conditionally.  This magazine is an extension of that vision.  A place to hold complexity, not fragments.  A place to hold truth.  A place to remind us that we are not alone in what we are seeing, feeling, questioning, or carrying.  Nor are we alone in celebrating the immense joy, creativity, and passion that exists in the work we are doing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI hope you lean into what is here, in all of its fullness and through both the comfortable and uncomfortable.  I hope you have the hard conversations.  I hope you are reminded that your voice, your experiences, your questions, and your reflections matter too.  I hope you read about what others are doing and feel inspired to support, try, fail, and accomplish great things.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Black and White Raven co. - Chloey Cavanaugh","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55747771498664,"sku":null,"price":25.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0543\/7613\/files\/3DE169FE-5FE4-42E7-901A-F45C8EEDA607.jpg?v=1783972302","url":"https:\/\/www.kindredpost.com\/products\/black-and-white-raven-company-magazine-issue-no-01","provider":"Kindred Post","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
