I have hiked out and touched this beauty almost every year of my life. I have seen first hand the effects of climate change and how fast glaciers are receding. This photo was taken on my most recent hike there with a friend of mine. This was captured inside of a crevasse, I was wearing chacos and walking through ice cold water to capture this. Two weeks later my friend and I returned to this same place and the entire area was gone. It melted and disappeared. I believe this image represents a type of beauty that is fleeting. You can only see it for a brief moment and once it’s gone it’s gone forever.
